A former member of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO)—one of the world’s leading Chinese orchestras—Cheng has played a significant role in introducing Chinese music to global audiences. In 2020, she toured Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Hungary with HKCO, bringing the powerful sounds of Chinese orchestral music to international concertgoers.

Cheng trained under Professor Jiemin Yan, a world-renowned erhu virtuoso, at the Central Conservatory of Music.
